TeamSpeak Gameday – Event Badge – Announcements

Hello everyone!
[Insert Introduction here… something something bla bla you already know] :face_in_clouds:

What does this mean? 🤔

All in all, this is a small but sweet event that we want to host while you’re all waiting for the Open Beta to launch hopefully soon, giving you (our community) a chance to not only play with TS Staff but also get the chance to win some cool badges. TeamSpeak Gameday may also develop into something bigger in the future, if you really like this idea and enough people participate, we would love to expand it to other fields.

Where and when? 📍

The first TeamSpeak Gameday will take place on our TeamSpeak (5) Beta Community Server on 2022-07-08T16:00:00Z, which can be reached at ‘beta.voice.teamspeak.com

NOTE: The Beta Server can only be connected to by using the TeamSpeak (5) Clients at this moment. If you don’t have the TeamSpeak (5) Client yet, you can download it for FREE from our Website right here: TeamSpeak Downloads | TeamSpeak. You do NOT require Closed Beta Access to be able to connect to ANY TeamSpeak Servers, but if you would like to gain access you can simply use the Global Beta Code MULTIPASS which will grant you instant access to the Closed Beta.

Which games will we be playing? 🕹️

Generally, we will opt for free-to-play games so that everyone has a chance to win the Event Badge or if they simply just want to join the game and have some fun. Our game of choice will be Fall Guys (which recently became F2P on Epic Games), as it gives us an easy way to host custom lobbies for up to 60 players with no problems whatsoever.

If you don’t have Fall Guys yet, click on the image below, this will redirect you to the store page

Fall Guys - Epic Games

What about the ‘Event Badge’ 👀

Yes, yes… We know that badges are an essential part of TeamSpeak, so we’ve prepared something for those who take home the crown… BUT you have to compete in the battle before you can lay your eyes on the shiny prize! The badge will be awarded to those who win the crown (essentially win the game). We’ll note their myTeamSpeak usernames and assign the badge shortly after the end of the Gameday.

Event Ruleset 📑

  1. English only: We want to make sure that more participants can join in the conversations.
  2. Under no circumstances are offensive usernames (TeamSpeak or In-Game) allowed.
  3. Please respect everyone, regardless of age or ability.
  4. Offensive or harmful messages against event participants will not be tolerated and will result in a disqualification/kick or ban from the event and the TeamSpeak Server.
  5. ONE badge per person. Even if the participant wins again, no second prize badge will be granted.
  6. If a participant has already won once, that person can still participate in the game, provided that there is still a spot available and there is no one waiting in the lobby that hasn’t played yet.
  7. Most importantly, have fun and enjoy your time.

You have all been waiting for it, so we’re here to deliver! ;D

Overall, we are still in preparation for the open beta, so our main focus is still on fixing bugs and improving the user experience.

One important improvement as an example is AGC for Playback. With beta 68 some user experienced a loud noise from other users when they started talking after being quiet for a while.

We also improved how encryption in chat room works. In best case you should not notice any difference.

  • Fixed configured speed limits for file transfers on new server versions not being applied correctly in all cases
  • Fixed “Open Image” not working correctly for images with non-ascii characters in the file name
  • Fixed configured file transfer speed limits not separating uploads and downloads correctly
  • Fixed typing indicator being shown for users that are not actually able to write messages
  • Fixed file transfer not working correctly when the channel has a password and the user does not have b_ft_ignore_password permission
  • Fixed not being able to see typing indicators for other people typing in a room that you have no permission to send messages in

Updated: Closed Beta/Global Chat Features – Announcements

Hey everyone!

Just wanted to update this topic with a whole new post so everything is up to date. We will continue to update this post when there is new wave releases, or if there is new updates to inform you of.

How do we access the all new TeamSpeak client?

Technically everyone can right now! You can download the new client from teamspeak.com or the Windows 10/11 Windows store. This would be missing the closed beta/global chat features, but you can request access to the additional features by visiting: beta.teamspeak.com and by joining the waitlist.

I’ve registered via beta.teamspeak.com. When will we gain access to the closed beta/global chat features?

Over the next few weeks we will be letting in new testers every single day so we are really ramping things up.

How can I check if I have access to the closed beta/global chat features or not?

You can either:

  1. Simply see if the options are now available to you on the new client.
  2. Check this on myteamspeak.com and review your badges after you login.
  3. If you’re on TS3: Tools → Options → myTeamSpeak → Configure Badges → This should show you every badge that you have.

I have found a bug/have an idea for the new TeamSpeak client. How can I share this?

My best suggestion would be to leave your feedback on community.teamspeak.com . We have several areas here which makes it easier for the team to locate current or new issues, or indeed share ideas about the future of the client. My top tip however would be to use the search function in the forums to see if this has already been reported or raised before. If you find a matching forum post, you can then add to this specific topic with your own experience/thoughts. When we release a new update for the closed beta, it might be better in some cases to report your findings under those specific posts which normally appears in the announcements area of the forums.

I’ve changed my TeamSpeak account email address after I registered for the closed beta/global chat features. Will I still gain access to the closed beta/global chat features?

If you have changed your myTS email address since registering for access to the closed beta/global chat features, please contact us either via DM here or via our social media channels for more help.

Can you share what position I am in the closed beta/global chat features registration queue? Are you able to share how many invites are sent out per wave?

No we can’t, but we can guarantee that everyone who has signed up for the closed beta/global chat features registration will 100% receive access and this will be in date order as mentioned above.
